About The Family and Child Hub

The Family and Child Hub provides a range of services to support families to care for children. Our services are available to parents, grandparents, family members or others who provide care to children.

We also work with SCHS Antenatal Services to support women and families in pregnancy. To learn more visit the Antenatal Services page.

We invite you to drop in for a play and a cuppa, feed and change your baby, or attend one of the group activities at The Family and Child Hub.

We offer FREE education sessions on a range of topics including sleep and managing challenging behaviours and other topics to support families in caring for children. The sessions are advertised on our Facebook page and we ask that you phone to book a spot.

Our team can also provide support to families through individual appointments. Please contact us to for further information on how we can meet the needs of your family.

Community Paediatrician

We’re excited to welcome our Community Paediatrician Dr Daniel Ki to the Family and Child Hub!

Dr Ki will work between Sunraysia Community Health Services and Mallee District Aboriginal Services.

The services provided by Dr Ki will be oriented towards behaviour, learning and development rather than a traditional medical model of care, and will integrate with other local services to build collaborative working relationships across the sector and region.
The service will also compliment the range of child health and family support services already offered by SCHS and MDAS. The appointment of a Community Paediatrician is funded by the Murray PHN.

Referrals

Referrals to Dr Ki need to be made through your GP/treating Doctor.

Our Philosophy

At the family and child hub, we provide safe, effective, child-centred information, support and care.

Each child’s best interests are at the heart of what we do.

There is no single ‘right way’ to parent or care for a child.

We work with families to make sure information and care best meets their needs. The care and support we provide is best practice.

We work with families; supporting them to work through issues that affect their wellbeing. We build on their strengths as they move towards positive change.

We bring together local child health and information services into a space where everyone is welcome.

Our space is your space. A place where you can drop in any time and receive information, care and support, use our facilities, catch up or wind down.

Welcome to the Family and Child Hub.
