Antenatal Services

Our Service

The Antenatal Clinic at the Family & Child Hub is here to support you every step of the way. Whether you’re seeking advice before becoming pregnant, tracking your pregnancy through regular check-ins with a midwife, or connecting to additional supports, we’re here for you. Our Antenatal Clinic offers caring, high-quality care for parents before, during, and after pregnancy. We aim to create a nurturing environment where parents feel supported and guided to achieve the best outcomes for themselves and their baby. The Family & Child Hub’s antenatal service is a midwife-led clinic, supported by a GP Obstetrician. You’ll have regular appointments with a registered midwife who specialises in pregnancy, labour, and birth care. We primarily care for women with low-risk pregnancies but also offer additional support or shared care for high-risk pregnancies. For these cases, we work collaboratively with the Mildura Base Public Hospital Specialist Clinic or a private obstetrician to ensure the best possible care.

What to expect

Your first appointment with the midwife usually takes place around 10 weeks into your pregnancy and lasts about an hour. During this visit, your midwife will take the time to get to know you, including your current situation, overall health, and any history related to pregnancy or fertility. They’ll also review any scans or blood tests you’ve had and can help arrange these if required.

After this initial appointment, future visits will be scheduled based on the national guidelines and your individual needs. The midwife will discuss your options for pregnancy care and let you know if referrals to the Mildura Base Specialist Clinic (MBSC) will be necessary during your pregnancy.

Who can use this service?

All pregnant women are eligible for this service. Some people may need the additional support of specialist care which will be determined by our team as your pregnancy progresses.

You can contact the Family & Child Hub for an appointment or your GP may make a referral on your behalf and we will contact you to make an appointment.
