Long Day Care Cooks Network
Sunraysia Community Health supports Long Daycare Cooks to provide healthy and nutritionally balanced meals for children in Early Childhood settings.
SCHS Long Day Care Cooks Network
The Cooks Network is a collaborative community of long day care cooks that meet regularly to network, share knowledge and develop skills in menu planning, to align with the Menu Planning Guidelines for Long Day Care and children’s nutrition-related needs.
Facilitated by Health Promotion officers and Public Health Nutritionists, each network meeting supports long day care cooks by providing access to:
- Professional development sessions covering topics such as menu planning guidelines, completing a menu assessment, allergies, fussy eating and more
- Training modules and resources from the Healthy Eating Advisory Service
- A supportive space to discuss current successes and challenges of long day care cooking with peers and professionals
- New recipe ideas that are suitable for long day care.
Meetings are currently held quarterly at Sunraysia Community Health Services, 137 Thirteenth Street Mildura. Centre cooks and management are welcome to attend.
