This service is available to all. 

Cost

This service is bulk billed for clients with a current Medicare card.

Some costs may be required for completing prescriptions and external services that might be required such as ultrasound and referrals.

Clients who do not hold a Medicare card will be required to pay a fee on the day. Please call us and speak to our friendly client services officers for a list of fees that may apply

Service Information

SCHS provides services that assist in managing all matters related to sexual and reproductive health.

We provide information, support and access for the following:

• Sexual health and wellbeing assessments
• Sexual health education
• understanding puberty
• Sexual diversity and transgender health care
• common issues with periods
• Sexually transmitted infections (STI) education, testing and treatment
• Cervical screening tests
• Breast health and breast checks
• Bowel cancer screening
• Contraception options
• Free condoms
• Emergency contraception
• Implanon insertion/removal
• IUD removal
• Pregnancy tests
• Onsite pathology collection
• Pregnancy options counselling
• Unplanned pregnancy options and advocacy
• Unplanned pregnancy counselling and support
• Coordination of Medical Termination of Pregnancy – Medical abortion
• Women’s Health Conditions
• PCOS
• Endometriosis
• Menopause support, assessment, testing and MRT
• Care coordination: linkage to specialist support, referrals, diagnostic services, and pharmacies
We provide internal referral for support and treatment of the following:
• Sexually transmitted infections (STI) testing and treatment
• HIV care
• Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention
• Continence care
We provide external referral for support and treatment of the following:
• IUD insertion/removal
• Surgical Termination of Pregnancy both locally and at the Royal Women’s
• Breast screening

When you visit  SCHS  you will be assessed by a registered nurse with training in sexual and reproductive health.

Our experienced sexual health nurses offer information, advice and management on all areas of sexual and reproductive health including contraception, sexually transmissible infections, blood borne virus, pregnancy testing and unplanned pregnancy support.


Our experienced nurses and doctors support women to access a medical termination at our clinic and refer women to services for surgical termination
In some cases, the nurse may refer you to see your own doctor, or alternatively refer you to other services including our General Practitioner (GP) service, other local health care services both locally and via telehealth to support your care and treatment.
