Occupational Therapy Services may include:
- Support to enable you to carry out personal, domestic and community activities of daily living activities safely and independently (such as showering, dressing, eating, housework, community mobility and leisure activities).
- Assessment and advice on modifications to the home environment to prevent falls, and improve safety and independence.
- Advice regarding adaptive equipment such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters and pressure care devices.
- Support to adapt to age related changes such as decreased energy, vision, hearing & mobility.
- Developing ways to cope with memory loss.
- Collaboration with other Allied Health Professionals and service providers in the community to assist you to meet your goals.
- Working with carers regarding transfer & positioning techniques and use of adaptive equipment to reduce the physical & emotional stress related to being a carer.
- Support to gain adaptive equipment and home modifications through the State Wide Equipment Program.
