An opportunity awaits a highly motivated oral health professional to use both their clinical and management skills to lead our multidisciplinary dental team.
This is a senior clinician and clinical manager role that will suit someone who is results driven, self-motivated, enjoys a challenge and is passionate about motivating and leading their team to deliver cost-effective, sustainable, high quality, integrated and client-centered dental services. Your clinical knowledge will be required to provide general and complex dental services in line with all clinical and funding policies, procedures, and guidelines as well as oversee treatment to clients with more complex conditions to ensure they receive appropriate services and care.
Integral to the senior clinical role is setting learning priorities for dental &/or oral health students by sharing your clinical skills and highly valued expertise in mentoring and supervision of less experienced dentists and students on clinical placement at the public dental clinic of SCHS in Mildura.
This role reports directly to the Director of Dental Services on clinical and administrative matters that drive program expansion and service quality and safety including developing systems that encourage excellence in clinical practice. You will also be required to assist the Director with recruitment, orientation & supervision, annual performance reviews whilst promoting positive performance-based culture with open and transparent communication and decision making as key components of the culture
Our facilities include a modern eight-chair clinic with onsite OPG facilities and digital radiography. We are affiliated with LaTrobe University Dental School and provide opportunities to participate in Student Teaching Clinics.
You will need to:
- Have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience and be registered as an Oral Health Practitioner (Dentist, OHT, Prosthetist) with AHPRA
- Have an Ionizing Radiation Apparatus Operating License in Victoria (if dentist or OHT)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to influence and inspire staff and other stakeholders
- High level of understanding of dental public health principles and working effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated leadership skills to drive a team approach which will lead to a positive workplace culture
- Experience in a leadership role in the healthcare/community services/local government sector will be highly regarded.
